Welcome to LimeLite ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

We collect information that you voluntarily provide when registering for the Service, including:

  • Phone number (optional)
  • Payment information (processed securely through Stripe)

Location Information

With your permission, we collect precise location data to:

  • Show you nearby events and venues on the heatmap
  • Calculate real-time venue busyness levels (LimeLite Flame rating) using geofence-based detection
  • Enable check-in features at events and venues
  • Provide location-based event recommendations

**Venue Density Detection:** When you are near a venue that appears on our heatmap, the app may detect your presence within the venue's geofence area (approximately 50 meters). This data is used solely to calculate an aggregate busyness indicator for the venue. Individual visit records are never exposed publicly — only the aggregated density level (e.g., "Chill," "Vibes," "Lit") is displayed.

**Privacy Mode:** You can enable Privacy Mode in your profile settings at any time. When enabled, your location will not contribute to venue density calculations or appear on the live map. You can still view venue busyness levels and use all other location features.

**Location Privacy Settings:** You can choose from three levels of location visibility:

  • **Precise** — exact location shown on the heatmap
  • **Approximate** — location fuzzed to a ~500m radius
  • **Hidden** — not visible on the live map at all

You can disable location services entirely at any time through your device settings.

Automatically Collected Information

  • Device information (device type, operating system)
  • Usage data (pages visited, features used)
  • Push notification tokens (for event reminders and updates)
  • Analytics data through Google Analytics

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process ticket purchases, venue entry fee payments, and other transactions
  • Show you relevant events and venues based on your location and preferences
  • Calculate and display real-time venue busyness levels (LimeLite Flame)
  • Enable vendor applications, venue management, and event management
  • Send you important updates about events you're attending
  • Process venue table reservations and entry purchases
  • Send push notifications for event reminders, ticket confirmations, and nearby events
  • Improve our Service and develop new features
  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests
  • Detect and prevent fraudulent or automated activity

4. Sharing Your Information

We may share your information with:

  • **Event Organizers:** When you purchase tickets, relevant information is shared with event organizers
  • **Venue Operators:** When you purchase venue entry or make reservations, relevant information is shared with venue staff
  • **Payment Processors:** Stripe processes all payments securely
  • **Service Providers:** Third parties that help us operate our Service (Firebase for push notifications, Google Analytics for usage insights)
  • **Legal Requirements:** When required by law or to protect our rights

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

**Aggregated Data:** We may share anonymized, aggregated data (such as venue busyness levels or event attendance trends) that cannot be used to identify individual users.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure token-based authentication
  • Encrypted storage for sensitive credentials
  • Automated bot detection to prevent unauthorized data scraping
  • Rate limiting on API endpoints

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained as long as your account is active
  • Location data used for venue density is aggregated daily and individual records are retained for a limited period for service improvement
  • Payment records are retained as required by financial regulations
  • You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Enable Privacy Mode to exclude your location from density calculations
  • Disable location services entirely
  • Adjust your location privacy level (Precise, Approximate, or Hidden)
  • Disable push notifications

8. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Third-Party Services

Our Service integrates with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • **Stripe** — payment processing
  • **Firebase** — push notifications and analytics
  • **Google Maps / Location Services** — mapping and geolocation
